On Monday, Republican New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu came face to face with protesters outside the Upper Valley Senior Center in Lebanon.
"He's not particularly welcome up here in terms of his behavior and his political decisions," said Deb Nelson, chair of the Hanover/Lyme Democratic Party, and one of the protesters at Monday's event.
The governor was visiting the Upper Valley Senior Center as part of September's "Senior Center Month." At a luncheon with community members and the Center's board, Sununu delivered remarks, took audience questions and presented the Grafton County Seniors Council with a commendation.
Sununu's visit comes amid an impasse on the state budget in New Hampshire.
